Diploma Programme in Civil Technology
This programme consists of regular courses at levels 1 to 4, including industrial training. Diploma programme is primarily designed for persons presently employed and those who seek employment in various middle grade technical fields in the industry. Halfway through the Diploma Programme, a student may acquire an Advanced Certificate in Technology in the relevant discipline.
The diploma programmes in Engineering Technology provide an opportunity for the middle grade technical personnel in industry and any other motivated people to improve their scientific knowledge, gain proper training and also to continue into the degree programme.
Admission Requirements: Normal admission to the Diploma Programme is through the Foundation Level. However, those who posses appropriate qualifications may seek exemptions from relevant courses at any level.
Medium of Instruction, Curriculum and Duration of the Programme : Courses in the Levels 3 and above are exclusively conducted in English Language, so the students require adequate knowledge of English to follow these courses. If Starting at Level 2 (for candidates with GCE A/L maths stream qualifications), the minimum duration of the Diploma Programme is three academic years.

Degree Programme in Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Technology)
The objective of these programmes is to provide a systematic path for motivated people to gain a degree in Engineering while providing opportunity to upgrade competent engineering technicians to the grade of Engineers. In doing so, the University expects to:

In its entirety, this programme consists of regular courses at levels 1 to 6, including industrial training. However, candidates who possess appropriate educational qualifications may seek exemptions from certain courses or levels in the degree programme. For a student following the degree programme, the Diploma in Technology is a mid way point of achievement that can be gained.

English Language Requirement Students intending to follow the Diploma or Degree programme at levels 03 and above need to have a pass in GCE (O/L) English or passed English for Technology (Beginer�s level) [LSL 0203] or have an equivalent/higher qualification in English.
New students are strongly advised to sit the English grading test. This gives an opportunity for them to claim exemptions from the stipulated English language requirement.
