Industrial Studies (IS) programme leading the awards Diploma in IS and BIS Degree has been designed specifically for persons presently employed in middle level management /technical grades in various industries. At present this study programme is offered in the following specializations.

Fashion design and product development
GCE (A/L) – Three passes in any stream OR
36 credits from any foundation programme of the OUSL OR
Completion of Certificate in Industrial Studies
GCE (A/L) – Pass in Biology/Botany and Passes in any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Combined Mathematics, Agriculture
36 credits from the foundation programme of the Faculty of Natural Sciences / Faculty of Engineering Technology of the OUSL including Biology/Botany
Credit requirements for BIS Degree
Total credit requirement for the award of Bachelor of Technology (Engineering) degree is 150. In addition the students should pass Industrial training modules of at least 30 weeks duration. Further, the students need to satisfy the compulsory list of courses relevant to the the specialization, and credit requirements in different course categories as given in Table 1.
Credit requirements for Diploma in IS
Total credit requirement for the award of Diploma in Industrial Studies is 78. In addition should pass Indutrial traing modules of at least 30 weeks duration. Further, the students need to satisfy the compulsory list of courses relevant to the the specialization, and credit requirements in different course categories as given in Table 2.
