Industrial Studies (IS) programme leading the awards Diploma in IS and BIS Degree has been designed specifically for persons presently employed in middle level management /technical grades in various industries. At present this study programme is offered in the following specializations.

Apparel Production and Management
Textile Manufacture
Agriculture

Entry Requirements

The students with any two passes at GCE (A/L) examination can enrol for the Programme. The students who do not possess two passes at GCE (A/L) could enrol for the Programme  after completing either the foundation courses or Certificate Programme in the relevant discipline. For agriculture specialization, two passes at GCE (A/L) examination should be science subjects.

Credit requirements for BIS Degree

Total credit requirement for the award of Bachelor of Technology (Engineering) degree is 160.  In addition, the students need to satisfy the compulsory list of courses relevant to the the specialization, and credit requirements in different course categories as given in Table 1.

Credit requirements for Diploma in IS

Total credit requirement for the award of Diploma in Industrial Studies is 90.  In addition, the students need to satisfy the compulsory list of courses relevant to the the specialization, and credit requirements in different course categories as given in Table 2.
