The Faculty of Engineering Technology uses a new course credit system with effect from the acemic year 2010. This will not affect the existing course codes, but the interpretation of the course code to derive the credit value will be different.

New Credit Definition

1 Credit (new)  = 25 hours of academic work

1 Old Credit = 450 hours of academic work

1 Old Credit  = 18 Cedits (new)

The academic work may include all activities related to a course such as study of given lesson materials, lab classes, face to face teaching, field work, tests, final examination and the any other activites decided by the course team.The new credit value of a course is derived from the course code by multiplying the second digit by 3.
