Prof. Bonny Norton, an internationally renowned scholar of English Language Teaching (ELT), and the Professor and Distinguished University Scholar in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, University of British Columbia, Canada conducted a live-cast from Vancouver, Canada on 11 July at the Postgraduate Institute of English. The talk was attended by over 40 PGIE students, faculty and officials from the Ministry of Education. Prof Norton spoke about the concepts of identity and investment and their importance in ELT and demonstrated a digital, multilingual storybook project which supports English language learning in parts of the world with limited resources for language learning. The talk was followed by a lively question and answer session where the audience had the opportunity to interact with Prof. Norton.
