There are many students in pre-schools who have special learning needs and these needs have to be addressed through Special Needs Education. The range of special education needs will vary based on needs and educational jurisdictions. A few children will need extra help for some or all of their time in school. Pre-school age would be the best period for identification of the special education needs and early intervention. Depending on whether the child's special education needs are mild or severe, they want a preschool that meets his or her unique needs. Therefore, the Department decided to organize workshops to support pre-school teachers to identify special education needs of pre-school children and to intervene as early as possible.
These workshops will enable the trainees to:
- Acquire new knowledge on children with special education needs
- Develop positive attitudes towards children with special education needs
- Acquire competencies to cater to the needs and facilitate development of children with special education needs.
