Diploma in Youth Development is a programme offered by the Department of Social Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL). The main aim of this Diploma is to empower young people to maximize their human potential including knowledge and skills to render a better service to nation building and national development by being an emphatic stakeholder of the development process.
The primary objectives of the programme are:
- To enable youth workers to gain professional credentials to practice this vocation nationally and internationally.
- To equip practitioners with generic and core competencies, knowledge, values and skills needed for this field.
- To encourage enlightened youth policy development, implementation and evaluation.
