The minimum duration of the certificate programme is one (01) year. Persons seeking admission should be 18 years old on the date of closing of applications and should have obtained 6 passes at the G.C.E O/L examination, including Mathematics, and is preferably involved in agriculture, animal rearing or fishing as a livelihood. Those who follow the programme will also be trained in a specified industry preferred by the student. This programme will be offered in all three languages - Sinhala, Tamil and English. It will only be offered at the Puttalam Study Centre and the Colombo Regional Centre.


Programme Content: Fundamentals of Biology, Methods of Increasing the Productivity of Farm Animals, Animal Husbandry, Fish and Shellfish Farming, Farm Practice, Integrated Farming Systems, Processing and Preserving of Farm Products
