Closing Date for Applications: 16th July 2015

The objectives of This programme is to familiarize the students with the basic infrastructure facilities available in science laboratories and to to train them in the operation and maintenance of scientific apparatus and instruments. apart from that, to impart knowledge on the basis of organization, management, maintenance and safety methods suitable for laboratories. A high efficiency in a laboratory will require knowledgeable workers who are capable of maintaining quality work in the laboratory while ensuring the safety. The laboratory you are working can be a research lab, a quality control lab, a lab in a university or a school lab. The responsibilities and the work expected from you may be slightly different from one another, may be specific, but the common tasks will be more or less the same. This certificate course is designed for laboratory technical officers to work efficiently in a laboratory and also to manage the laboratory efficiently ensuring safety of all who work in the laboratory while providing a better service.

This course will help for, Those employed as laboratory technicians who wish to obtain qualifications and thereby improve their promotional and/or career prospects. Newly developers those who want to come into the laboratory technology field with the view of obtaining qualifications. Any person wants to pursue an Advance Certificate in Laboratory Technology in their own time and at an affordable cost. Medium of instruction- English

The study system of The Open University is based on distance learning methods. Regular attendance to the University is not required and therefore, well suited for those of you who are employed or engaged with other commitments. Printed course material is supplemented (some times with audio visual learning material) for self learning. Your progress in courses is evaluated at different time intervals using a variety of assessment methods.
