The Advanced Certificate in English programme is of one year duration and those who have obtained a `C' pass in all three courses in the OUSL Certificate in Professional English have direct entry to it. All others will be entered through performance in the placement test.
This programme comprises three courses;
- LSC 3201 - Advanced Communication Skills (Reading)
Gives an insight into the process of reading a variety of texts, with special emphasis on academic reading and reference skills.
- LSC 3202 - Advanced Communication Skills (Writing)
Gives an insight into the process of reading a variety of texts, with special emphasis on academic reading and reference skills.
- LSC 3204 - Introduction to Literature
Introduction to three principle genres fiction, poetry and drama .
This leads to a Diploma and B.A (Hon) degree for those who wish to pursue further studies.
