To provide teachers with adequate training to meet the needs of the school system, to inculcate critical thinking through the medium of  language and literature, to foster tolerance and the celebration of diversity and to realize the potential of language and literature to break down discrimination related to gender, caste, race, ethnic, cultural and sexual orientation.
