Diploma in Youth Development Work is a programme offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) in collaboration with the Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP). This Diploma intends to empower young people to maximize their human potential and help in the transformation of youth as partners of development.
The key objective of the programme are:
to enable youth workers to gain professional credentials to practice this vocation nationally and internationally, to equip practitioners with generic and core competencies, knowledge, values and skills needed for this field, to enable youth workers to facilitate the national development process with enlightened youth policy development, implementation and evaluation.
Entry Requirements
(a) Three passes at the GCE Advanced Level in any stream OR
(b) Successful completion of the Foundation/Certificate in Social Sciences of the Department of Social Studies, OR
(c) Completion of any level 2 programme offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka OR
(d) An equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate of the Open University of Sri Lanka which includes occupational experience relevant to the field of youth work.
