Dr. (Mrs.) Wathmanel Seneviratne graduated from the University of Kelaniya in Economics (Hon), 1978. She obtained the Higher National diploma in Commerce in 1978 (SLTC), Diploma in Library science in1988, Masters in Library & Information Science in 1993 and PhD in 2007 from the University of Colombo.

She has served the University of Colombo, Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Postgraduate Institute of Management and CISIR library before joining the OUSL. She has 25 years of experience in serving libraries.
