| TEST OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY - 2009 |

The Test of English Proficiency is a project carried out by the Post Graduate Institute of English, Open University of Sri Lanka in conjunction with the Department of Language Studies of the Open University. The scope of the project was to evaluate the English language proficiency of a sample of 50 students each from 12 national universities and two private sector tertiary level institutions, all of which were granted Quality Enhancement Funds by the World Bank funded Project for the Improvement of Relevance and Quality of University Education (IRQUE Project). The total sample population to be thus assessed was 1350 students. The project commenced on 15th January 2009 and was completed by 31st May 2009.
