|Concepts in Chemistry-CMU2220|
About the Course
This is one of the courses which will make up the Level 4 Chemistry component in the Bachelor of Science Degree Programme.
The academic value of this course is 1/3; which means that you have to spend about 150 hours of study. The course will run through semester 1 and semester 2.
This course is intended to give the students in level 4, a thorough understanding and knowledge of some fundamental concepts in chemistry and some of their applications. Thus the course provides a further enhancement of the foundational knowledge required in understanding chemistry.
Structure of the course
This course consists of 6 study units.
Unit I- Understanding the basics of molecular spectroscopy
Unit II - Applications of energetics in chemistry
Unit III - Kinetics
Unit IV - Phase equilibria
Unit V – Importance, uses and relevance of surface phenomena in chemical
Unit VI – Conductivity
Each unit consists of many study sessions. An introduction to each Unit is provided at the beginning which indicates what is expected of you after studying the Unit.
