OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers courses in the areas of Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science for the Bachelor of Science Degree programme while foundation courses are offered for the students who lack sufficient qualifications to directly offer Mathematics for their degree.

The Department is happy to announce that the Computer Science discipline is now open for any student who satisfies the qualification to enter the B.Sc. Degree Programme. In addition, DMCS offers some stand alone courses in Mathematics to improve skills of students who do not wish to register for a regular degree programme at OUSL.

In respect of a new focus, two certificate programmes are offered to meet the demand of professional skills in computer applications and networking. Research opportunities are also available in the fields of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science leading to higher degrees.

Further, DMCS has extended its services by offering computer science courses and statistics courses to the faculty of Education, faculty of Engineering and some other certificate courses.
