Course content:
Introduction to statistical Inference, Parameter, Point estimation, Method of moments, Likelihood function, method of maximum likelihood, Properties of estimators, Sufficiency, Unbiased estimators, mean squared error, minimum varience unbiased /estimators, paramal estimators, Statistical tests, Uniformly most powerful test.

Scheme of evaluation : Continuous Assessment Tests (Open Book Test, Closed Book Test) and Final Examination (End of semester).

Evaluation Criteria:
CAM (Continuous Assessment Marks) = [Highest mark (OBT/CBT) * 60%] + [Lowest mark (OBT/CBT) *40%]
Students should obtain a minimum CAM of 40% to be eligible to sit the final examination.
Final Mark = [Marks obtain at the Final Exam * 50%] + [CAM * 50%]
