Metamorphic Petrology, Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Environmental Science
Interaction of fluids, melts, deformation, mineralization and metamorphism with a strategic emphasis on developing new cross-discipline research areas.
Analytical geochemistry, experimental petrology, and physico-chemical modeling to the deciphering of crustal processes, from mineral growth and zoning, rock textures, fluid-rock interaction, to reconstruct the Precambrian crust of Sri Lanka, a part of Gondwana.
Current research includes research in the following fields:
(1) metamorphic petrology,
(2) rock geochemistry,
(3) aqueous geochemistry,
(4) environmental geology,
(5) gemmology and,
(6) geophysics
