This programme is designed for those who would want to develop their skills and knowledge to work in a laboratory. This is a two credit programme that requires a minimum period of one acadamic year. This programme consists of five courses offered by different departments in the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Faculty of Engineering Technology.
Compulsery courses
Laboratory Techniques in Physics -PSC 2324 (by the Department of Physics )
Metrology; measurement of mass; measurement of volume; care and maintenance of equipment; basic electricity for lab techniques; working with wood, metal, plastic and glass; measuring and producing low pressures; gases at above atmospheric pressure; measurement and control of humidity; power supplies and oscilloscopes; capacitors and inductors; ammeters, voltmeters, potentiometers and bridge circuits; radioactive sources: activity, half life and handling.
