The Department of Special Needs Education of the Faculty of Education has developed this programme in collaboration with the respective Faculties/ Departments of the Open University of Sri Lanka.
The principal goal of this programme is to develop professional knowledge, attitudes and skills of the participants. The course would deal comprehensively with all aspects of Special Needs Education.

• Applicants who already completed any Diploma (Levels 3 & 4) from the Open University of Sri Lanka, or
• A candidate who has obtained a National Diploma in Teaching (Special Education) from a National College of Education may seek admission to Level 5 and subsequently Level 6 of the Bachelor of Education Honours in Special Needs Education Degree Programme, with exemptions for Levels 3 & 4 of the Bachelor of Education Honours in Special Needs Education Degree programme
