Bachelor of Industrial Studies Honours – Apparel Production and Management
The Bachelor of Industrial Studies – Apparel Production and Management program is a four year degree program and is designed to provide a wider theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of garment industry and manufacturing process.
This program is ideal for employees engaged in the area of apparel manufacturing sector without a formal theoretical knowledge about the process. This degree program is also suitable for those who are interested to develop their creative ideas as garment products leading to self-employment as garment manufacture or small scale garment manufacturer.
Objectives of the program
The employees who are already in the apparel industry with lack of theoretical wider knowledge of industrial garment production process.
This program is ideal for a person who has a deep interest to build a self– employment related to the apparel fields or to establish a small scale garment factory.
This program provides an opportunity to enter to the job market in the field of apparel industry at middle level management.
Program duration: Minimum 4 years for applicants entering with A/L qualification, however depending on your available time and capabilities, it is possible to spread over a longer duration.
Applicants entering with higher qualification such as two year diploma or NDT in the relevant field are able to finish within minimum of two years period. Further Details:
Teaching mode: Distance mode, limited lecture hours and laboratory face to face teaching, more printed course material and on line teaching.
obtained three passes in any stream, at the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination, Sri Lanka, in one sitting, or, completed the Certificate in Industrial Studies in Apparel technology offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka, or, completed the Advanced Certificate in Industrial Studies in Apparel technology offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka, or, completion of any foundation Programme offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka, or, secured an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate
